MY BELIEFS

I often reflect on how grateful I am that I believe God is who He says He is. I believe the same about Jesus. He is who He says He is. But I know believing isn’t enough. I must live out what I believe in my day-to-day life. My beliefs hold hands with my faith and become my actions.

We’re living in a day where lines are blurred. People resist absolutes–––offended if something feels narrow. Narrow can be uncomfortable. To me it’s brings peace to know Jesus is the Way to the Father. I rest in narrow.

I rest in His love. My life before Jesus is nothing I’d ever long to go back to. It’s with such joy and gratitude I walk with Him.

When Jesus says, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life,” I rest. When He says, “I will never leave you or forsake you,” I remember I am loved. I find comfort in Him. I know I’ll never be left alone to navigate through the days this side of Heaven without Him.

Over a span of many decades, Jesus has been who He says He is in my life. He is kind. His heart is tender. I love His mercies, new every morning, and have experienced them even though I don’t deserve to! He has shown Himself strong and present in my day-to-day life and actively involved in all that concerns me.

It’s because of who He has shown Himself to be I trust Him and whole-heartedly embrace and believe the tenets below. They are not pat statements. They are truths I have seen and lived out and experienced first-hand for forty plus years. Not in my own strength, but in His.

The definition for grace I live by, and love, is this: Grace is God enabling me to do what I could never do on my own.

On this journey together,

Deb
